Prairie celebration in memory of Pat Dunn
Family, friends, and colleagues of Pat Dunn gathered at the Wolf Haven International’s Sanctuary in Tenino, WA, on July 10, 2021 to share stories of Pat’s influence and life’s work. Pat was CNLM’s South Sound Program Director from 2011-2020. The Sanctuary served as a perfect landscape for this celebratory event, and Wolf Haven staff and Board were gracious hosts and event leaders. Notably, the resident wolves spoke up during the ceremony, perhaps a tribute to Pat’s contributions to South Sound conservation and his passion for canines. Among the participants were Sanders Freed (Pacific Northwest Preserve/Restoration Manager) and Deborah Rogers (Co-Executive Director and Director of Conservation Science and Stewardship). During the ceremony, the Sanctuary’s prairie property was named in honor of Pat, with an entrance marked with a lovely wood arbor erected by Sanders.
