Reception at the Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve
CNLM hosted a get-to-know-you cocktail open house at the Thousand Palm Oasis Preserve (Coachella Valley). It was well attended by numerous friends, volunteer, staff, and others interested in learning more about CNLM, and the past, present, and future of the Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve. The setting was magical, and the golden evening glow from the native palm fronds, the perfect weather conditions, and the delightful mix of people made for fun and educational event.
Cecily Clemons, CNLM’s Director of Development and communications organized the catered event and she greeted the guests. I had the privilege to introduce our board as well as our preserve manager, Ginny Short. Ginny provided a spectacular, informative, and compelling presentation that included an overview of the successes and challenges that face the preserve. Ginny introduced the executive director, David Brunner, who provided information on the mission of CNLM and a history of the preserve including CNLM’s involvement in managing the preserve.
